Scholarship Application
Cookie's Heart Scholarship Fund is proud to offer support for incoming freshmen from the New Orleans area public school system who are pursuing a nursing degree at a Historically Black College or University (HBCU). We are dedicated to honoring the legacy of Glencie Quarion "Cookie" Metz, who lost her life at the young age of 19 due to a TBI sustained in a car accident. Our scholarship program is designed to support and uplift young women and men as they pursue their dreams of becoming nursing professionals.
To be eligible for the Cookie's Heart Scholarship, students must meet the following requirements:
Be an incoming freshman from a New Orleans area public school
Be admitted into a nursing program at an HBCU
Have a 2.5 cumulative high school GPA on a 4.0 scale
Provide a copy of high school transcripts and ACT/SAT scores
Submit 2 letters of recommendation (1 personal reference and 1 professional reference)
We believe that education is a key component of preventing TBI, and we are committed to supporting young women who are dedicated to making a positive impact in their communities through healthcare. We encourage all eligible students to apply for this opportunity.
